BPAT/Visiting the Mayor/Vice Mayor, Olongapo (Tuesday)

Thank you, Sierra, for today’s post!

On Tuesday, we got to visit two different Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPAT). These teams assist the police in helping to keep the peace among the people in the city. During these services, the team gave their Tagalong introductions and sang their team songs, Kaitlynn and Samuel also sang their special songs in Tagalong, and Dr. Cirone shared a gospel message about the Prince of Peace.

After these two BPAT visits, Mr. Fulfer took us to get pizza at a restaurant called Yellow Cab which was really good! After eating lunch, we had some extra time so we went to a coffee shop to get some coffee (or in my case a strawberry smoothie). When we finished our coffee break, we headed to meet Mayor Paulino and Vice Mayor Cortez of Olongapo. It was really cool to get to sing and pray for the God-ordained leaders of Olongapo! When we visited the Vice Mayor, he emphasized how he needed God to help this city and states the importance of God-centeredness. Hearing his testimony was such a blessing! The Vice Mayor also put a meeting on hold so the rest of the city officials could hear use give our introductions and sing for them. It was a really neat experience! After meeting the Mayor and Vice Mayor, we returned to the children’s home for some relaxation and fellowship. The children AND our team had fun running around in the rain. Also this evening, Pastor Ted spent some time with the men speaking about the importance of prayer–I guess you could call it a “Ted Talk!”

Note from the Leaders: Tuesday was a great day of ministry and the team is taking every opportunity to be blessing and give of themselves sacrificially–such a great spirit of comradery! We look forward to what the Lord has in store for us tomorrow!

With Love and Appreciation,
Team Philippines
