Subic Bay Baptist Church/Music Festival, Olongapo (Sunday)
Today’s update is from Christine!
On Sunday, we had the opportunity to assist Subic Bay Baptist Church in their Sunday services. Each team member was able to teach or assist a Sunday School class. The classes ranged from nursery to juniors to adults. After Sunday School, we had the main worship service. We gave our Tagalog intros and sang both of our team songs. After Kaitlyn and Callie(?) performed “It Matters to the Master” as a special, Dr. Cirone preached a message out of II Chronicles 12:1-12 titled “Protect the Gold.”
Following the worship service, we had a delicious Filipino meal for lunch. After lunch, there was a music festival service. Many of the church members as well as the PCC team members participated in various specials, both vocal and instrumental. After the specials and some congregational singing, Samuel concluded the service by preaching a brief message about surrendering your life to God.
Since there was no evening service after the music festival, we had the rest of the day free to relax. Many of us went to the SM Mall downtown. We enjoyed gelato as we shopped and fellowshipped with one another.
