Monday, May 26, Gospel of Christ Baptist Church (Cebu)

This year, we have three “veteran” team members who traveled on last summer’s team. Sierra Graham is one of those team members and we are so blessed to have her traveling again this year. Sierra gives us today’s update…

Today we had a little extra time to sleep in in the morning before having the opportunity to go shopping for barongs and Filipinianas (traditional formal wear in the Philippines) and three guitars (a specialty of Cebu, especially the ones made with turtle shells). The three guitars will be used throughout our ministry in the weeks to come and will be donated at the end of our trip to the missionaries. After our shopping, we got to eat at a popular fast food restaurant called Jollibee.  Following lunch, we went back to the hotel to rest for a few minutes then headed back to the church to go soul-winning. We were all divided up into four groups. The group I got to go on went into the “jungle” which was basically climbing a steep mountain. On the soul-winning excursion, the Lord gave me the opportunity to tell two little boys Marjun and John Paul about Jesus and they trusted Him as their Savior! I also had the opportunity to tell other children in the jungle about the Lord. After soul-winning, we all met once again at the church for a time of songs, fellowship, and food. The meal consisted of lechon, rice, pancit, lumpia, and some really delicious cucumber lemonade. We ended the day giving testimonies about the soul-winning and saying our goodbyes to Gospel of Christ Baptist Church–what a great first church/stop to begin our missions ministry. We then returned to the hotel to pack and weigh our luggage once again so we can leave for the airport at 5:30am. Next stop: Manila!

Thank you for your love and prayers! Sierra Graham and Team Philippines
