Thursday-Friday, June 5-6, Subic Bay Children’s Home/Subic Bay Baptist Church (Subic Bay)

Thursday was a busy day as the morning began with a Ladies Fellowship. Mrs. Fulfer spoke on Your Identity in Christ, conducted a Q&A session with Mrs. Cirone, and all the ladies on our team joined in to make it a memorable time for all that were present. During the afternoon, the team split into two teams and visited two of Subic Bay Baptist Church’s mission churches presenting their Tagalog introductions, singing special music, preaching, and teaching the children. The team was a blessing to each of these churches as it gave several team members an opportunity to serve.

Alyssa mentioned that today, Friday, was also a full day! We had an educator’s conference with Callie, Mrs. Fulfer, and Dr. Cirone. Some of the team members hiked down to the river and saw some beautiful sights. Later in the day, four groups were able to go out into the community and help with the feeding ministries. When my group arrived, the kids were so excited and waved at us all the way from the top of the hill. In my group, the kids heard a story from Molly about the prodigal son. The action songs before the story helped the kids open up, and they paid close attention to the story where they learned about salvation and God’s desire for all to come back to Him. We ended the ministries by giving the children mannapat, a Filipino dish. Ashlyn P., Sam, and Sophie also taught and fed the kids in three other areas. That night there was also a big Youth fellowship. Kids from different churches around the area came. The room was buzzing with excitement as the Blue and Red team leaders led games. Fierce competition resulted in the Red team winning for the night. Several special songs and group singing followed. Brandon brought a wonderful message titled “Are You Drowning In Your Storm” where he talked about the fact that God is with us no matter what storm we may be going through. He may not take away the storm, but he knows what is going on and is always there for you. During the invitation, many came forward as the Lord touched many broken hearts. We ended the night with some pictures, food, and fellowship with the kids. It was a wonderful day that we will remember for a long time.
