ALEX and heather FULFER

Born in the Philippines, Alex lived in the United States from age three until age 16, when his parents brought their family back to the Philippines as missionaries. His parents Teddy and Ligaya Fulfer later established Subic Bay Baptist Church and Subic Bay Children’s Home.

While his parents continued their missions work, Alex came to the United States to attend Pensacola Christian College. He earned a degree in youth ministries with a minor in physical education. While at PCC, he met his wife, Heather, a PCC English teacher. Now, more than twenty years later, Alex and Heather have four children and continue serving at PCC and the Campus Church.

In 2010, Alex led his first summer missions trip to the Philippines. He loves every aspect of the mission trips—from hosting basketball camps and youth rallies to teacher conferences and medical clinics. He especially enjoys spending time with the Tulabots at their orphanage in Quezon City and with his parents and sister’s family at Subic Bay Children’s Home in Olongapo.

John and Michelle Cirone

For over 20 years, John and Michelle have been close family friends with Alex and Heather Fulfer as their children have grown up together. With Alex being from a Philippines missionary family and, throughout the years, sharing many exciting stories about his family, their ministry, and their YOM Philippines mission trips, the Cirones have developed a love and burden for the Filipino people. Since 2008, John and Michelle began leading the YOM Australia missions trip and, ironically, have had many opportunities to minister to Filipino ministries in Australia and New Zealand. The Cirones were honored when Alex asked John to co-lead the 2018 YOM Philippines trip and asked Michelle to co-lead the 2024 YOM Philippines trip.

John and Michelle have served at Pensacola Christian College for over 30 years. Although retired, John taught in the undergraduate and graduate business programs, and Michelle currently works in the Reservation Office. They have four adult children, two grandchildren, and two grand puppies.
